In 2018, Latvia will celebrate a hundred years since it became an independent state. With festivities at home and all around the world, Latvia100 presents the best it can offer in culture, lifestyle and innovation. To mark Latvia’s Centenary and tell the story of Latvia’s past, present, and future, Latvian Institute invites foreign journalists to participate in the Centenary Media Programme. More information about this opportunity: http://latvia.eu/lv100-media-programme

Attention! In September, Latvian Institute especially invites British journalists to discover the Culture of Latvia with a special programme:

  • Meeting the Introverted Latvian Writer: Preparing for London Book Fair 2018
  • Fuel for the Soul: Symbolism in Baltic art – the last terra incognita of European art
  • Ingredients for Identity: Recipes for development by the contemporary art festival, Survival Kit; poetry slam at the annual Poetry Days
  • Grass-roots Power: Treasures of the National Library; pushing boundaries at Serde, the international artists’ residence
  • Greenovative: Wood in design and architecture
  • From Tribe to Nation: Monument of Freedom; tour around the ex-KGB building; paths to individual and national freedom

Latvian Institute offers individually tailored visit programmes and assistance in covering travel costs and accommodation. British journalists are welcome to contact Latvian Institute at prese@li.lv
