The Latvian Writers’ Union is announcing an OPEN CALL for applications for foreign publishers offering an opportunity to receive a grant for publishing and promoting Latvian literature abroad both in English and non-English speaking countries.
Grant program is financed by State Culture Capital Foundation (Valsts kultūrkapitāla fonds) and the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Latvia.
We invite legal persons/publishers that have experience working with Latvian authors or have interest in publishing Latvian literature to take part in the grant competition.
The deadline for applications is February 5th, 2018 (23:59 East European time). Only online submissions are accepted. Please submit your project applications here. Please note the names of sections! We kindly ask publishers from Great Britain, USA or other English-speaking countries to fill in the application form found under the “ENGLISH PUBLISHERS” section, and other publishers – under the “NON-ENGLISH PUBLISHERS” section.
The submitted projects will be evaluated by a jury of experts. The projects receiving financial support will be announced in February 2018.
The next grant competition for foreign publishers publishing Latvian literature abroad is scheduled for May 10th.
