On 6th of March, the Commission of experts gathered and assessed 22 applications from foreign publishers for publishing literary works of Latvian authors abroad. This competition was financed by the Ministry of culture of the Republic of Latvia and State Culture Capital Foundation, and supported projects in different languages. The Commission was composed of five experts: translator Maima Grīnberga, editor Vents Zvaigzne, specialist in literature Eva Eglāja-Kristsone, author and cultural journalist Arno Jundze, literary agent Žanete Vēvere-Paskvalīni.
In total, 3 project proposals from foreign publishers for publishing literary works of Latvian authors in English language were submitted. The commission of experts also supported 13 projects for the publishing Latvian authors in other languages. Please see the list of supported projects below. Together experts decide to support foreign publishers with amount of 40 792 euros.
