Biography
Alain Schorderet was born to a French speaking family in the German speaking part of Switzerland. Alain studied French and Italian Literature and philosophy in Switzerland, France and Italy. He obtained his Ph.D. in 2011 from the University of Zurich. Working as a teacher and lecturer in different swiss schools and Universities and as a manager in two foundations, he came to Latvian Literature through his love of poetry and his wife Ilze, who founded the first school for Latvian language in Switzerland. Alain translated 60 poems by the great Latvian poet Jānis Rokpelnis to french language. “L’Aborigène de Riga” was published by Grèges, in Montpellier, 2013.
