Alexander Filyuta (b.1971) was born in Leningrad, USSR. He is a co-founder of the poetry project “Lyrik im ausland” at the cultural space “ausland” in Berlin, a member of the Baltic Sea Library Project, which deals with poetry in the countries of the Baltic Sea region, as well as a member of the European independent literary activists’ association CROWD. He writes in Russian and German and is especially active as a translator of poetry. Among his recent publications are translations of German poetry in Translit: Journal of Literature and Theory in Russia (#15-16/Dec. 2014) and of Ukrainian poetry in the Magazine of the Federal Cultural Foundation Kulturstiftung des Bundes in Germany (#24/2015). He has also had a collection of poetry published in the literary magazine Berlin.Berega Nr. 2 (May 2016), and translations of Vassily Kandinsky’s poetry in Wassily Kandinsky – Vergessenes Oval¸ Hrsg. zusammen mit Alexander Graeff Verlagshaus Berlin, Berlin (Oct 2016).
