Biography
Jelena Smelova is a translator lost in both russian and latvian languages. She was born in the biggest forest arrays of Moscow region, later moved to Latvia, where she studied philosophy, midwifery, culture management, ayurveda and gardening, keeping the spirit of being curious about everything. First translations she started with was fairy-tails of Sergey Kozlov "Hedgehog in a fog", when she discovered that simplicity is the most complicated thing in the world. She did dozens of translations of published prose and poetry, from Inga Žolude, Agnese Krivade, Ulja Nova, Oleg Glushkin, Boris Kolimagin, Anna Remez, Vladimir Serinovsky, Vjacheslav Karpenko, Guntis Bojārs, Elvita Ruka etc.
