Lilija Berzinska (1978) is a writer, translator, illustrator, and she has a PhD in Humanities. Nezināmais zvērs [Unknown Animal] written and illustrated by Berzinska was her debut in literature in 2009. Berzinska is the author of several children’s books, including Lamzaks meklē Lamzaku [Lamzak is Looking for Lamzak] that was nominated for the Annual Latvian Literary Award in 2016. In 2015 Berzinska published her first adult fiction novel Putnu osta [Bird Harbour] and in 2017 fairy-tale Pasaules centrs [The Centre of The Universe].
