Agnese Zarāne (1989) is a prose writer and the author of Slīdošās kāpnes [Sliding Stairs]. The novel Sliding Stairs is about a young girl Signe from a small village town, who starts a new school year in Riga. It is a story about self discovery, family relationships, peer pressure and first love. Zarāne has atended Literary Academy workshops, has published her stories in online magazines Punctum and Satori. Agnese Zarāne is currently working on her collection of stories.
